PANJIM: After auto-renewal of the scheme for two successive years, Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY) cardholders will now have to apply online for renewal of their cashless health insurance. The renewal process, which will commence from Monday, will also be done in person, across various DDSSY kendras.
The over-a-month-long renewal process will conclude on March 31. In 2021 and 2022, the cards were auto-renewed in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Those currently holding DDSSY cards have to undergo the renewal process for the next policy period which begins from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024. There are 2.9 lakh cardholders in the State, covering a 10 lakh population.
A three-member family is provided an insurance cover of Rs 2.5 lakh while a family of four or more members is provided a cover of Rs 4 Lakh under the scheme.
The Directorate of Health Services (DHS) has said that online renewal can be done through www.goaonline.gov.in. Also, those wanting to do manual renewal will have to visit the Kendra on receipt of the SMS on the scheduled date and time, and in case of a missed appointment, a fresh date would be intimated. The annual renewal fee for a family of three or less members is Rs 200 and for a family of four and above is Rs 300.
As many as 56 hospitals from within and outside Goa have been empaneled under the DDSSY Scheme. In addition to 447 interventions, over 30 ayurvedic procedures have been listed under the scheme.
