VASCO: BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus, is hosting 64 school students from across India to participate in the Young Entrepreneurs’ Bootcamp (YEB), from March 28 to April 2. The programme had received hundreds of applications from over 20 different states of India.
The programme is designed for school students between 9th to 12th grade to experience technology-driven innovation and an entrepreneurial ecosystem at the campus.
“The aim of the programme is to create an entrepreneurial spirit and provide exposure to initial steps in creating a startup,” says Prof Suman Kundu, Director of BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus. “The technology infrastructure of the campus will be used to provide hands-on experience for developing innovative prototypes,” said Prof Mridula Goel, who is spearheading the event on the campus along with a team of faculties and students.
Vice Chancellor of BITS Pilani, Prof V Ramgopal Rao, who has co-founded two deep-tech start-ups himself, said, “It’s important to instill in our students’ minds a never-give-up attitude and a sense that no problem needs to remain unsolved. Society connect is crucial for developing this entrepreneurial mindset. I am happy that the YEB is doing all of this.”
