PANJIM: BJP State President Damu Naik has expressed firm resolve on the party contesting all 40 seats in the Goa Assembly Elections 2027. He at first only harped on having built a strong organisation in constituencies. However when asked a pointed question about contesting all 40 constituencies, he replied in the affirmative.
Damu Naik e however did not reply to the question on coalition with MGP. Earlier when asked about contesting all the 40 constituencies, Damu said that the BJP would strengthen the organisation in all the constituencies. He said "we do not want to be blackmailed. We want likeminded people."
"There should not be any people who blackmail. We need like minded people. You can recall 2002 when Manohar Parrikar was chief minister. We were like minded. People like MLAs who are likeminded. Those MLAs who get elected twice or thrice believe that whatever they say is right." Damu stated.
When asked about contesting all the 40 seats, Damu said, "Yes definitely we have to fight (all 40seats)." When asked about the alliance he said, "When we say we will fight all 40, only we will fight. How we will fight, I will disclose at the right time. What should I tell you now? Keep some space for telling you things later," Damu said, while leaving the foundation day function, on Wednesday in Panjim.
