
PANJIM: The Cabinet on Thursday approved 24 hours seamless digital stamping, to bring efficiency and transparency in stamping system. It will be paperless and eliminate fraudulent practices, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant told media after a cabinet meeting on Thursday.
It is part of modernisation of governance and good governance. This will bring in efficiency and transparency and render the whole process paperless. It will also eliminate fraudulent practices, Sawant said. The local stamp vendors who were selling physical stamp papers will also be taken on board Sawant said and they will be trained in e-stamping.
Cabinet also approved Smart Metering and the tender has been awarded to Digi Smart Network Pvt Ltd. So far the use of prepaid power metres will be applicable to for commercial & 3 phase users. Domestic consumers will not be affected as of now, Sawant assures. Under this system consumers will have to pay in advance for power usage, just as one does for mobile phones. Once the amount paid is over, the power services will stop.
The cabinet also decided to operate the Shyama Prasad Mukerjee indoor stadium at Bambolim on a PPP model. The indoor stadium will be leased to Dome Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. for 10 years. Sawant claimed that the State government will receivet Rs 25.25 lakh per month, by leasing out the stadium. Whenever the government wants, the stadium will be made available free of cost.
