PANJIM: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Goa has filed a chargesheet against Assistant Commissioner of Customs Rajesh Dabas and his wife in a disproportionate assets case.
The anti-corruption branch CBI had registered the case against Dabas in October 2020, while he was posted in Goa
on deputation as senior intelligence officer with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence. Currently Dabas is posted at Mumbai.
According to the CBI, Dabas was found to have had allegedly amassed disproportionate assets to his know source of income to the other over Rs 1.56 lakh in the name of himself and his family members during the check period for which he was not likely to, account for. The disproportionate assets,both movable and immovable were 109 per cent more than his income while serving as Superintendent of Customs, Goa, during his posting between April 2004 and September 2020.
The chargesheet was filed before the North Goa Principal District and Sessions Court, Panjim, who has taken cognisance of the case, under the relevant section of 109 IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act. The case was investigated and chargesheeted by ACI Goa Inspector Sneha Sahani under the supervision Additional Superintendent of Police and Head of CBI/ACB/Goa Branch Alok Kumar.
