MARGAO: Frustrated over the delay in finalising the alliance between NCP and Congress, at last Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao is all set to join TMC on Monday, in the presence of party supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
A grand meeting has been organised to induct Churchill Alemao, along with his daughter Valanka Alemao at Benaulim. It will be a show of strength from the MLA’s part.
Earlier, Churchill had announced that he will take the final call after two weeks at the media briefing held recently, as he had fruitful talks with Mamata in Bengal.
As informed by the sources, he will resign as MLA on Monday morning and thereafter join TMC. Mamata Beneerjee arrived in Goa on Sunday and will participate in a few party programmes in the State at different locations.
It is pertinent to note that Churchill was a lone MLA elected on the NCP ticket in the elections held in 2017. Earlier, he was a TMC candidate for the Lok Sabha elections. On the other hand there are speculations that Valanka Alemao will contest the elections on TMC ticket in Navelim, as she started campaigning long ago.
