Herds of stray cattle loiter on the roads and make life miserable for motorists. The bovines are seen grazing along the day in the area and at nights make themselves comfortable on the road and refuse to budge. Most of them are from Siolim and often move to the Mapusa market at nights to feast on the garbage and then turn back and occupy and block the roads at Cunchelim. The roads here are poorly illuminated and often two wheeler riders end up knocking down the cattle very often the rider and the animal end up getting badly injured. Is there no way the Mapusa Municipality impound these strays and send them to cattle pounds or gaushalas before precious lives are lost?
