Relocate petrol pumps from town limits

Published on

The recent motorcycle fire at a petrol pump in Harmal serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers of having petrol pumps in densely populated areas. Margao town, for example, has at least six petrol pumps within its municipal limits. These pumps pose significant hazards, such as fire risks, environmental concerns, and even exacerbating parking shortages.

In line with proposals to relocate schools to dedicated educational hubs, I suggest moving petrol pumps outside town limits. This would enhance safety, reduce congestion, free up land for parking, easing traffic woes.

Relocating petrol pumps would be a step toward creating a safer, more sustainable urban environment.
