Unmanned ferry ramps pose danger

Published on

Our ferry ramps in Goa are unmanned have no gates and are dangerously open to some fatal accidents. The Captain of Ports and the River Navigation Department should put up gates, CCTV cameras and post security personnel to man the gates 24x7.

The ramps at Betim and Panjim must have a queue system to strictly monitor vehicles and pedestrians getting in and out of the ferry boats.

There is a mad rush to get in and out of ferry boats, especially at peak times. Authorities should act before tragedy strikes.
