Congress Legislature Party to Challenge Government on Key Issues in Assembly Session

PANJIM: The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has resolved to raise issues of unemployment, Mhadei river water diversion, land grabbing and cash-for-jobs scam during the two-day Assembly session starting from February 6.

After chairing the CLP meeting, Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao said, “We discussed various issues concerning the State mainly unemployment, diversion of Mhadei water, cash-for-jobs scam, coal pollution, law and order and others to be raised in the upcoming Assembly session.”

Yuri said that the CLP discussed on strategy to be adopted by the opposition members during the session.

The CLP also congratulated party leaders Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge for inaugurating new office in New Delhi and Priyanka Gandhi on her election to Lok Sabha. It condoled the death of former Prime Minister late Dr Manmohan Singh.

Meanwhile, the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) will meet at the Goa Assembly Complex, Porvorim at 4 pm on Friday, January 24, to finalised business to be transacted during the two-day session.
