VASCO: The Akhand Damodar Bhajani Saptah concluded at Lord Damodar temple, Vasco on Thursday.

On the occasion, Samapti rituals were conducted in the afternoon after which and Shreefal (coconut) was immersed in the sea.

A large number of devotees from across the State participated in the Samapti. The famous Saptah festival started with the keeping of Shreefal at the feet of Lord Damodar by the Joshi family and the Samapti ritual commenced with the immersion of the shreefal also called ‘kaul’ kept last year.

The Samapti was held on a grand scale as the festival was held on a subdued note for the last two years due to the Covid pandemic.

The ‘Shreefal’ was carried in a ‘Dindi’ procession with devotees chanting "Gyanba Tukaram". It was stopped at the Vasco Railway Station Circle to perform bhajan. The final bhajan was sung at the Kharewado jetty before immersion.
