This morning, a tragic incident occurred at Patto in Panjim when a dumper vehicle ran over a dog owned by local resident Subhash Keni. According to Keni, the driver did not stop to check on the dog but instead continued driving without any concern. Keni expressed his deep concerns regarding the safety of children, particularly with a primary school located nearby.

He pointed out that many children frequently walk along the roadside, making them vulnerable to reckless driving. Keni urged the government to take swift action to address the growing menace posed by these vehicles, which often drive erratically and show a complete lack of responsibility when confronted.

"The situation has become unbearable. These vehicles are not only a threat to animals but to the safety of our children," said Keni. He further highlighted that many of these dumper vehicles are overloaded, making them even more dangerous on busy streets. Keni is calling on authorities to consider changing the routes taken by these vehicles to prevent further accidents.

The public is now urging the government to take immediate steps to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future, and that the safety of the community, especially children, is prioritized.
