Female body retrieved from Zuari river; Suicide suspected
PANJIM: Three deaths have been reported in the last two days in the Zuari and Mandovi rivers. An unidentified female body was recovered from Siridao by Fire personnel on Thursday morning. As per fire personnel, the woman had jumped from the Siridao Bridge into the water. The body has been handed over to the police for further investigation.
This is the third death in the water in the last two days.
On Wednesday, two bodies of males were found --one at Diwar ferry point and the other at Malim Jetty, Britona.
The body found at Malim Jetty, was identified on Wednesday evening, as that of Guruprasad Rane, by Kadra Police in Karwar, Karnataka. They have confirmed that the body is of the prime suspect in the brutal murder of Pune-based businessman Vinayak Naik, a resident of Hankon-Karwar. The accused Rane, was also a businessman and hailed from the same village and used to reside in Ponda.
The body found at Diwar ferry on Wednesday was not identified by police.
