Anjuna Police have registered an FIR against Param Ulhas Warty, a resident of Siolim, for allegedly violating provisions of the Foreigners Act by illegally accommodating an Israeli national without proper intimation to authorities.

According to police sources, Warty had been housing the foreign national, identified as Atala, in his privately-owned apartment for the past four months. However, he failed to submit the mandatory 'C Form' to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), a legal requirement under Indian law when hosting foreign nationals.

The omission constitutes a violation of the Foreigners Act, which mandates that landlords must notify authorities of any foreign occupant staying on their premises.

Police officials confirmed that the matter came to light during a routine verification drive. An investigation is currently underway to determine whether there were any additional breaches of protocol or if similar cases are linked to the accused.

Authorities have reiterated the importance of compliance with all foreigner registration norms, especially in tourist-heavy areas like Anjuna, to ensure security and transparency.
