Rich tributes were paid to Former Sports Minister Monte Cruz died on 27 August 2024. He was known for his dedication to sports and was immortalized for constructing the iconic Nehru Stadium in Fatorda in 8 months. The Funeral cortege left from his residence at Pajifond Margao at 3.30pm Thursday for mass at Holy Spirit Church Margao at 4pm. He was laid to rest at Holy Spirit cemetery. He leaves behind his wife Monica and 3 daughters and one son.
