Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte announced that the TIME (Tourist Information Management System) software will become mandatory for all hotels starting April 1. This will ensure that the government receives comprehensive data on tourists arriving in the state.
Khaunte highlighted that Goa experienced 100% occupancy from October to December, with flights operating at full capacity, resulting in an average 22% growth in tourism in 2024.
He also shared that the government is working on creating a year-round festive calendar to enhance the state's appeal to tourists. This includes promoting events like São João and Chikhal Kalo, giving visitors the opportunity to experience Goan culture during any visit.
Additionally, the government is focused on expanding Goa's tourism offerings beyond its beaches by promoting hinterland tourism, providing tourists with a more diverse experience of the state.
