PANJIM: Goa CM Dr Pramod sawant does not want to solve the Mhadei issue. He is compromised on Madhai issue. If he really cares for the people of Goa then he should write a letter to the PM to call a joint meeting with Goa, Karnataka and Central Govt and solve the Madhai issue, Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar AICC secretary incharge of Goa, told media on Monday.

Interacting with media after the Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations at Menezes Braganza Hall, Panjim, Goa, Dr Anjali Nimbalkar said, " I urge the Goa CM, if he really cares for the people of Goa, he should write a letter to the Central government, to the Prime Minister regarding the Mhadei issue to call a joint meeting of Goa, Karnataka and the Centre."

"Your chief minister here is compromised, he does not want to solve the Mhadei issue, who is not bothered about the drinking water needs of Goa. Why does he not want to come to the meeting?

The BJP is ruling at the State level and the Centre, when a Opposition CM ( of Karnataka) write a letter to the Prime Minister, does the Goa CM not have the courage to call for a meeting, for the benefit of the people of Goa?" she shot back at a reporter who alleged that she had not raised the Mhadei issue, after she took charge of the Goa Desk.

"Karnataka is thinking of its people, Tell your CM also to think of the people of Goa. Tell him to write a letter to the PM, that this is the issue and call for a meeting. The Congress chief minister of Karnataka has already written to the PM that we are ready to attend a meeting," Dr Nimbalkar claimed.

"The Mhadei issue is between the Centre and the States. Modiji should call for a meeting and Goa's rightful share of the water and Karnataka should get its rightful share of the water. I had kept the document before the media, where my CM from Karnataka Shri Siddaramaiah had written a letter to Modiji to solve the Mhadei issue that he is ready to attend the meeting. That time I had released the document to the media stating that your CM who is compromised, does not want to solve the issue," Dr Nimbalkar alleged.
