In a tragic incident, an 11-year-old boy from Bhatpal, Canacona, lost his life after suffering an electric shock while using an electric mosquito swatter near an extension board at his home.

The deceased, identified as Samesh Gauder, was reportedly operating the mosquito bat when he came into contact with an electrical source, leading to fatal electrocution.

According to officials, a post-mortem examination confirmed that Samesh died due to an electric shock. Doctors noted characteristic entry and exit burn marks on his body, consistent with high-voltage current passing through.

Police have urged the public to exercise extreme caution while using electric mosquito bats and other appliances near live electrical connections, especially around children.
