PANJIM: The State government on Friday constituted a 12-member task force committee under the chairmanship of theatre artiste Vijai Kenkre to review the present status of infrastructure works of Kala Academy building and suggest recommendations for its improvement and upgradation.
The other members are Tomazinho Cardozo, William Fernandes, Praveen Gaonkar, Satish Gawas, Devidas Amonkar and Francis Coelho and representative of Charles Correia Foundation, chief architect, director of art and culture, member secretary of Kala Academy and ESG general manager Mrunal Walke. PWD chief engineer Santosh Mhapne is the member secretary.
Secretary (Education) Prasad Lolayekar, IAS has been appointed as nodal officer and he will coordinate between the government and the committee.
Devidas Amonkar and Francis Coelho are the representatives of the Kala Rakhonn Mandd, Goa.
Last week during a meeting with the delegation of Kala Rakhonn Mandd, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had agreed to constitute a committee consisting of artistes and citizens to look into the renovation work.
The committee will inspect the building within a month and prepare a report.
