
A case of kidnapping has been registered at Bicholim Police Station after a 13-year-old girl, originally from Jharkhand, went missing from Ladfem-Latambarcem on Sunday afternoon. The minor was last seen around 3:00 PM on June 22, 2025.
According to police, the girl’s father lodged a formal complaint on Tuesday morning, stating that his daughter had disappeared without any known reason and is suspected to have been taken by an unidentified person without the family’s consent.
The case has been registered under Crime No. 82/2025, invoking Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act, 2003. Police suspect that the child may have been taken to an undisclosed location.
Local Police Sub-Inspector (LPSI) Sonali Harmalkar is currently leading the investigation. Efforts are underway to trace the minor’s whereabouts and identify the accused involved in the incident.
Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the missing girl to contact Bicholim Police Station immediately. Meanwhile, search operations have been intensified in and around the region.
The case has raised concern among residents, highlighting the need for heightened vigilance and child safety measures in the area.
