Sarvesh from Hassapur Pernem Dies After Crashing Bike into Truck in Mopa

A tragic road accident claimed the life of 24-year-old Sarvesh, a resident of Hassapur in Pernem, after he rammed his two-wheeler into the rear of a truck near Sagvi Bar and Restaurant late Sunday night.

According to Mopa Airport Police, Sarvesh was allegedly riding recklessly when the accident occurred. His pillion rider, Sandesh (25), also sustained injuries in the crash and is currently receiving treatment.

Sarvesh was rushed to Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim, where he succumbed to his injuries around midnight while undergoing treatment.

Police have registered a case under Sections 281 (rash riding), 125(b) (duty of rider to follow safety measures), and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. Further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the fatal crash.

Authorities have reiterated the importance of safe driving practices and helmet use, particularly among young riders.
