The Administrator of Comunidades, Central Zone, Panaji, has formally declared 30 Comunidades as “in default” due to their failure to conduct elections for the 2025–2028 triennium within the stipulated deadline. This decision, made under the authority of Article 181-A(1) of the Code of Comunidades, follows an extensive inquiry process involving stakeholder hearings and comprehensive reports submitted by clerks. These reports certainly showing serious lapses, including the non-constitution of the Comunidades and failure to hold deliberations as mandated by Article 34 of the Code. This move also serves as a warning to other Comunidades to comply with electoral schedules to avoid similar consequences.
The Comunidades now declared in default are: Nirankal, Conxem, Qeula, Orgao, Adcolna, Vagurbem, Betqui, Vadi, Cuncoliem, Candeapar, Boma, Tivrem, Talaulim, Volvoi, Mercurim, Goa-Velha, Navelim, Renovadi, Talaulim-de-Santana, Naroa, Gancim, Chimbel, Caraim, Goauli Moula, Batim, Passo-de-Ambarim, Neura-O-Pequeno, Azossim, Ella, and Mandur.
