PANJIM: The third-year students of Goa College of Architecture have requested Goa University to release semester IV results to avoid disrupting academic schedules and preparations.

In a representation submitted to the Registrar of the University, the students have said, “We are already more than three months into semester V, and despite previous communications and reassurances from the university, the results have still not been released.”

They said they visited the University on August 26, to inquire about the results and they were told that by September 15, the situation would be handled and the necessary steps would be communicated to the college administration.

“However, today, the 23rd of September marks more than a week beyond this promised deadline, and we are yet to receive our results,” they said.

The students brought to the attention of the university administration the lack of action taken regarding Roy D’Souza who set the examination paper for building construction.

“The exam was excessively difficult and designed in such a way that it was not feasible to complete it within the allotted three hours. This has greatly affected many students and we believe it will reflect negatively on our academic performance,” he said.

“Additionally, with the continued delay in the release of results, we foresee another issue. Should students fail certain subjects, they will understandably raise concerns about the time and money they have already invested in this semester, only to have to repeat it next year. These students could have either worked towards clearing the backlog this semester or taken a break to plan their next steps. We have already completed a major assignment for this semester, and the uncertainty surrounding the results has left us in a difficult situation,” they said.
