5-member panel to aid govt in examining authenticity of land registration records

PANJIIM: The State government has constituted a five-member Committee of Experts headed by Justice Utkarsh V Bakre, retired Judge of High Court of Bombay to examine and to deduce the authenticity in respect of notary records and other land registration records which are allegedly tampered or forged or any other form.

The committee members comprises Portuguese expert Adv F E Noronha, representative of Forensic Science Laboratory, Verna and Goa Police not below the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police. Deputy Director of Archives Blossom A S P Medeira is the member secretary of the committee.

The committee is expected to recommend to the government the action proposed to be taken about the alleged forged/tampered records which are presently sealed as well as those which may be sealed in future. The committee is also expected to advise the government regarding safety and security of the records and to draft rules for the same, if any required.
