Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has raised serious concerns over traffic violations by tourists using rented vehicles, stating that such indiscipline has contributed to 70% of road accidents in the state.
Emphasizing the need for stricter regulation, the Chief Minister called for rigorous enforcement of traffic laws to reduce the rising accident rate. “The traffic department is actively working to cancel the registrations of rented vehicles found violating rules,” he said.
CM Sawant also urged the public to cooperate with authorities in maintaining road safety, highlighting that addressing this issue requires both enforcement and civic responsibility.
