Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has revealed that a total of 22 cases have been registered in connection with the multi-crore land scam that has rocked the state. So far, 75 individuals have been arrested, including six government officials, in what is being described as one of the largest land frauds uncovered in recent times.
Providing an update on the status of the investigations, the Chief Minister said that eight FIRs have been transferred to various police stations for further action. Of the total cases, 12 have already been chargesheeted, three FIRs have been quashed, and two final reports have been submitted.
The government has reiterated its commitment to pursuing the case to its logical conclusion, with the Chief Minister asserting that no one found guilty — regardless of their position — will be spared. Investigations into the land scam are ongoing, with more arrests likely as authorities delve deeper into the web of fraudulent land transactions.
