The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa has formally requested a meeting with the state’s Director General of Police (DGP) to address concerns over the “growing gun culture” and the deteriorating law and order scenario.

In a letter to the DGP, AAP Goa president Adv. Amit Palekar highlighted alarming incidents, including the recent Mungul shootout, open gunfire in Marcaim, and an attack on a police officer. He warned that these events, coupled with rising thefts, assaults, and gang-related crimes, have left citizens anxious and shaken public confidence in the system.

The party urged urgent and visible action to restore peace and maintain law and order. Palekar requested an early appointment to present AAP’s observations and suggestions directly to the DGP.
