Aided schools directed to adhere to reservation policy in staff recruitment and promotion

PANJIM: State Education Department has asked all aided schools to strictly follow the reservation policy of the government for recruitment and promotion of all teaching and non- teaching employees of Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories.

In an order, Director of Education, Shailesh Zingde has said, “The heads of all the government, aided or primary or secondary or higher secondary or special schools, including minority management, are hereby directed to strictly follow the reservation of the Government for recruitment or promotion of all teaching and non-teaching employees of scheduled castes or scheduled tribes categories for all the aided schools in terms of Article 12 and Article 16 of the Constitution of India and the provision of Goa Schools Education Act 1984 and Rules 1986."

The Education Dept has asked all the govt aided Primary, Secondary, Higher Secondary and Special Schools, including minority management, to maintain the Post Based Reservation Roster and Person with Disabilities (PwD) Roster and get the Rosters duly verified by the Directorate of Social Welfare and Directorate of Tribal Welfare from time to time. It has pointed out that directions to this effect were issued to the Department by Goa Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes vide its judgement dated July 27, 2024.
