On the occasion of International Workers' Day, the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) organized a rally to express solidarity with workers and raise pressing concerns over labor rights and employment conditions.
Speaking at the event, Advocate Suhas Naik voiced serious concerns over the rising number of job terminations, particularly in Goa’s pharmaceutical sector. “We need answers to many of our questions,” Naik stated, highlighting the plight of workers who have been abruptly laid off.
AITUC leaders and participants called for greater accountability from employers and urged the government to investigate alleged unjust layoffs in the state's thriving pharmaceutical industry. The rally also served as a platform to demand stronger labor protections and fair treatment for industrial workers across sectors.
As workers marched through the streets with placards and slogans, the message was clear: economic growth must not come at the cost of workers' rights and livelihoods.
