
In a swift crackdown, Anjuna Police arrested a 34-year-old man, Deepak, a native of Uttar Pradesh, for the illegal storage and sale of tobacco products near Nagoa. The raid resulted in the seizure of tobacco items worth approximately ₹60,000.
The accused was caught red-handed during the operation and has been booked under relevant provisions for violating tobacco control regulations. Authorities have confirmed that further investigation is underway to determine the source and distribution network linked to the illicit trade.
This action comes as part of ongoing efforts by Goa Police to curb the illegal tobacco trade in the region.
