Beef Shortage Hits Margao Market Amid Holy Spirit Feast Rush
Published on

A beef shortage has affected the SGPDA Retail Market in Margao during the Holy Spirit Church feast, leaving many customers disappointed as they struggled to buy meat for festive meals.

Beef vendors reported that the supply has been irregular for the past 3–4 days, leading to limited availability. “We are not getting enough beef from our usual suppliers,” said a local stall owner, who noted the issue has worsened during the festive period.

The situation has caused inconvenience to regular customers, particularly during a time when demand traditionally surges. Local resident Milagres Fernandes expressed frustration over the timing of the shortage, urging authorities to look into the matter.
