MARGAO: A review meeting focusing on the Power Department’s infrastructure in the Benaulim constituency took place on Wednesday, involving engineers from the department.
During the meeting, it was noted that significant progress had been made in replacing damaged poles, upgrading old conductors, and installing new transformers. However, the Power Department was urged to expedite the completion of the remaining work. The discussion also included updates on the status of these initiatives and other infrastructure enhancement activities in each village.
Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas, who chaired the meeting, emphasised that the goal is to prevent the issues encountered during this year’s monsoon from recurring in the next season. He highlighted the importance of ensuring a reliable power supply for residents, particularly during the upcoming Diwali and Christmas festivities.
