Bengaluru man died due to heart failure after diving, say cops

VASCO: 34-yr old Bengaluru-based tourist Sanjay Shrinivas lost his life due to cardiac arrest after he participated in a water sports activity near Grande island, of the coast at Baina, said police.

Shrinivas, his wife and child were part of a group that booked a boat-cum agent from Nerul and embarked on a voyage to the Grande Island beach for water sports activities including scuba diving and before that, he completed parasailing session at Dona Paula without any issues.

He did parasailing activity at sea and after that, the boat reached the Grand Island where he was to carry out scuba diving activity. However, he felt uneasy and began to choke on board the boat and tried to vomit.

But his condition worsened and he collapsed. The other tourists onboard and crew cried for help and another nearby boat was called for help and Shrinivas was shifted on the boat and was brought to the Baina shore, where he was given oxygen and CPR was tried.

Shrinivas was immediately rushed in an ambulance to the Sub-District Hospital, Chicalim, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.

A post-mortem examination confirmed that cardiac arrest led to the untimely demise of Sanjay Shrinivas. For the family, the adventurous outing turned into a tragic end and shocked them.
