Bicholim Police have solved a chain-snatching case that had remained open for nearly a year, arresting two suspects and recovering stolen gold ornaments valued at ₹2.2 lakh.
The accused, Abbas Aslam Jaidi (34) and Sharif Shaha Samsher (35), both residents of Maharashtra, were taken into custody on a body warrant obtained from Old Goa Police. During interrogation, the duo admitted to their involvement in the crime.
The stolen items, which included a 40-gram gold mangalsutra, were traced to Pune, where the suspects had taken them.
The incident took place on December 5, 2024, at Bhamai Pale, Bicholim. Two men on a black motorcycle had targeted a woman, snatching her jewellery before fleeing.
