Relief is on the horizon for Bicholim residents grappling with water scarcity, as a new 10 million litres per day (MLD) capacity water purification plant is set to be constructed at Menkure. The ambitious project, aimed at resolving the region’s water supply issues, comes with an estimated cost of ₹58 crore.
The foundation stone for the plant will be laid by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, alongside local MLA Dr. Chandrakant Shetye. Once completed, the facility is expected to significantly enhance access to clean and reliable water for the people of Bicholim and surrounding areas.
Officials say the project aligns with the government's broader goal of upgrading water infrastructure across the state and ensuring long-term sustainability of water resources.
