PANJIM: A student from BITS Pilani Goa Campus died by suicide on Tuesday evening in his hostel room.
According to the Verna Police, it received a call at 5.41 pm on Tuesday. On reaching the spot, the police had to force open the door of his room. After entering, the student was found hanging from the ceiling fan.
The deceased student, Om Priyansh Singh, was a second year student of MSc in Physics in BITS Pilani. He was a native of Delhi and was currently appearing for his exams. Ironically, Singh was supposed to visit his family. The reason for the drastic step is currently not known. The post mortem will be conducted today (Thursday).
