Panic gripped the North Goa Collector’s Office on Thursday morning after officials received a bomb threat via email, warning them to “evacuate the premises before 3:30 or else we will blast.” The threatening message was sent to the office’s official email ID, prompting immediate security protocols.
In response, authorities evacuated all staff from the building as a precautionary measure. A similar threat email was also reported to have been received by the Bardez Additional Collector’s Office, leading to the evacuation of that office as well.
Police teams and bomb detection squads were quickly deployed to both locations. As of now, no suspicious object has been found, but a full security sweep is underway.
Officials have confirmed that a formal investigation is in progress to trace the origin of the threatening email. Meanwhile, operations at the collectorate have been temporarily suspended.
The incident has raised serious concerns about administrative security in the region. Authorities are urging the public to remain calm while ensuring that all necessary measures are being taken.
