The Bombay High Court at Goa has dismissed a petition filed by Rupa Jitendra Deshprabhu, wife of former MLA Jitendra Deshprabhu, in connection with a long-standing property dispute. The court also imposed a cost of ₹20,000 on her, stating that the plea was a clear attempt to delay the execution of an eviction decree passed as far back as 2009.
In a strong observation, the High Court criticized the petition as lacking merit and being strategically filed to stall the legal process. It emphasized that justice cannot be denied to the decree-holder through deliberate litigation tactics.
The High Court has now directed the trial court to proceed with the execution of the eviction order and conclude the process within one month.
The ruling brings fresh urgency to a case that has been dragging on for over 15 years and marks another legal setback for the Deshprabhu family in the protracted land dispute.
