On Sunday, hundreds of parishioners from The Holy Spirit Church in Borda and beyond gathered to participate in a Live Way of the Cross held at the Borda field. The event, led by Fr Simon and Fr Franky, saw over 100 participants playing various roles in this dramatic reenactment. This year's event was particularly special, marking the Jubilee Year for the Catholic Church, celebrating 2025 years since the birth of Christ.
Fr Simon, Chaplain of the Chapel of St Joaquim in Borda, emphasized that the event symbolizes hope, inviting all to become "pilgrims of hope." "The Way of the Cross is a journey of hope, and it's inspiring to see the enthusiastic participation of people from Borda and beyond”, he said.
Nazario Fernandes, a participant, expressed his sense of accomplishment, stating, "I feel fulfilled seeing such a large audience." Walter Barreto, who portrayed Jesus, shared his gratitude, saying, "I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to play the role of Christ in this live Way of the Cross”. The event was a powerful display of faith, unity, and the spirit of hope within the community.
