Calangute Abuse Case: Hotel Faces Closure for Violating Goa Children Act

In a strong response to the recent child sexual abuse case in Calangute, North Goa Police have initiated action against the hotel involved. Authorities are in the process of sealing the property and moving to cancel its operating license for allegedly allowing a minor to stay unaccompanied by family or relatives—an act that violates the Goa Children Act.

Superintendent of Police (North Goa) stated that the hotel management and owners would be held fully accountable. “They will not be spared if they permit a child to stay without any accompanying family member or guardian. This is a serious violation,” the SP said.

He further warned that any similar violations in the future would attract strict legal action. The police emphasized the importance of hotels strictly adhering to child protection laws to prevent the exploitation of minors and ensure their safety in the state.
