PANJIM: Dr V Candavelou, IAS, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister was appointed as new Chief Secretary of Goa following transfer of P K Goel, IAS, who has now been posted as Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes.
The order appointing Dr Candavelou, AGMUT 1997 batch officer was issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) New Delhi.
Currently, Dr Candavelou was serving as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Goa in addition to the responsibilities of several key departments including finance, mines, industries, ports, planning, statistics and evaluation.
Dr Candavelou was transferred and posted in Goa in June 2022 and he became the first Chief Secretary from the 1997 batch of IAS.
He was also the Director General of the Goa Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (GIPARD).
