PANJIM: A car caught fire at the old Mandovi bridge on Sunday night. However, no injury was reported due to the incident. Upon receiving the information, teams of Fire and Emergency Services (FES) from Panjim and Porvorim rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
Speaking to reporters, Kishore Fatardekar said, “We received a call at around 10.20 pm stating that a car has caught fire at Mandovi bridge. We immediately rushed to the spot and saw that the vehicle was in full flames. At the same time, a team from Povorim Fire Station also arrived at the spot. Both the teams doused the flames but by the time the fire was extinguished the car was completely gutted.”
