MARGAO: Goa Pradesh Congress President Amit Patkar has demanded an investigation into the alleged scam concerning Lower Division Clerk (LDC) posts at the South Goa Collectorate, suggesting that a retired High Court judge should oversee the probe. Patkar raised questions about the allocation of LDC posts, including who received them, who was denied, and the reasoning behind the request for seven additional posts. He also sought clarity on the involvement of those behind the so-called “Mission Total Commission.”

He criticised the BJP government under Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, stating, “The corrupt BJP Government has no right to stay in power. We cannot allow vested interests to undermine the future of educated unemployed Goan youths. All recruitments under the Staff Selection Commission are the only way forward. Scrap the LDC posts.” He further claimed, “I have information from reliable sources that one politician demanded seven LDC posts, but Revenue Minister Atanasio Monserrate refused to oblige. There are also reports suggesting that a significant number of posts were given to a BJP functionary. All this needs to be probed.”

Patkar also criticised Monserrate for asking for proof of job sales, questioning whether CM Sawant had introduced a scheme for issuing receipts under “Mission Total Commission.” He emphasised that the Congress party will closely monitor developments, asserting, “We will not allow any politician to play with the future of Goans. We will stand by facts and truth and not fall prey to the narratives set by vested interests in connivance with each other to divert attention.”
