In a shocking revelation, Goa Congress and Activist Swapnesh Sherlekar have exposed the illegal deed of purchasing a bungalow at Aldona by Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel for Rs 2.36 Crore which was built illegally on an agricultural property with Survey No. 36/1 in Aldona village under Section 17/2.
The bungalow was constructed in 2016 and the sale deed for the same between Cyril Mendonca and Puneet Kumar Goel was done in May 2024. Opposition and activist have criticized the government for corruption and also TCP minister Vishwajit Rane for giving a clean chit in this matter.
Upon further investigating, the land was originally a paddy field. With no possibility of buiding any construction on that agricultural field, Mendonca continued to build an illegal structure in 2016. At present, in 2024, Mendonca sold the property to Chief Secretary.
