PANJIM: The Goa Children’s Court has framed charges against Suchana Seth, CEO of a Bengaluru-based AI company, for allegedly killing her four-year-old-son at a hotel in Candolim, in January this year.
Suchana Seth is currently in judicial custody. As per the chargesheet, Suchana allegedly committed murder of her minor son, during her stay at a hotel in Candolim. She later packed her son’s body in her luggage trolley bag and fled from the hotel in a taxi and tried to destroy evidence.
The charges have been framed against Suchana under Sections 302 and 201 of IPC for destruction of evidence and Section 8 of Goa Children's Act for failing to provide a safe environment to the victim child.
However, Suchana Seth has pleaded not guilty. The case trial has started, and the complainant has been asked to appear before the court on Thursday, November 7.
It may be recalled that in April, the Calangute Police had filed a 642-page chargesheet before the Goa Children’s Court against Suchana.
The statements of 59 witnesses were recorded by the police in the case. According to the police, the minor son’s death was due to shock and respiratory asphyxia.
The case was investigated and the chargesheeted by Calangute PI Paresh Naik.
