CHINCHINIM: Local residents have expressed concern over the Carnival clashing with school and Goa Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination dates.

Gerson Gomes, a Chinchinim-Deussua panch member and AAP leader, criticised the government for poor scheduling. “The carnival coincides with exams, distracting students,” he said, highlighting noise from Kell tiatrs, musical programmes and dances.

Gomes urged authorities to reconsider the exam schedule, stating, “I request the government to give serious thought to postponing the exams.”

The carnival float parades are scheduled from February 28 to March 4, while SSC exams begin around March 1.
