Chodankar Accuses BJP of Running Goa CEO’s Social Media, Demands Answers
Former Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar has levelled serious allegations against the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Goa, claiming that the official social media handles of the CEO are being operated from the BJP’s headquarters. He alleged that this undermines the neutrality of the election authority and breaches its constitutional duty.
Chodankar questioned the Election Commission, demanding to know whether the CEO’s ‘X’ and Facebook accounts are being misused to promote partisan narratives. He claimed that certain posts targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi were clear evidence of bias, calling it a “blatant breach of neutrality” that damages public trust in the electoral process.
“The people of India must rise for truth, justice, and the Constitution,” Chodankar declared, asserting that such actions threaten the democratic framework of the country. He vowed that the Congress party would respond to these alleged violations through democratic and lawful means.
According to him, these developments signal a dangerous precedent where key institutions could be manipulated to serve political interests rather than uphold fairness. “The revolution to protect democracy has begun,” he said, warning that attempts to hijack constitutional bodies to influence elections or alter the Republic’s foundational principles “will not go scot-free.”
Chodankar reiterated that the Congress will not remain silent in the face of what he described as institutional complicity and misuse of power. He urged citizens to remain vigilant, participate actively in safeguarding democratic values, and resist any efforts that compromise the independence of public institutions.
