Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday assured Members of the House that he would request Women and Child Development (WCD) Minister Vishwajit Rane to ensure all pending Laadli Laxmi applications are cleared before approving any new ones.

“The 1,000–2,000 applications pending for various reasons should be cleared immediately by calling a meeting of the approval committee,” Sawant said.

Replying to a starred question tabled by Priol MLA Govind Gaude, Minister Rane stated that a total of 25,209 applications had been received under the Laadli Laxmi scheme from April 2020 to July 14, 2025, out of which 23,606 applications had been sanctioned.

Rane further informed the House that 1,355 applications, which were initially rejected due to submission after the one-year deadline, have now been approved by the government for sanctioning. He also presented a detailed list of rejected applications.

Highlighting individual grievances, Gaude informed the House that in one particular case, the department had been seeking a divergence certificate from an applicant since 2013.

In response, Rane assured the House that a meeting would be convened shortly and all applications pending for the last two to three years would be processed and sanctioned.
