Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has congratulated Goa University for securing an A+ grade in the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation—marking the first time in its history that the university has received this prestigious rating.

Calling it a proud moment for the entire state, Dr. Sawant praised the university’s commitment to academic excellence, research, and student-centered development. “The government has consistently supported Goa University through infrastructure, resources, and reforms. This milestone is the result of a collaborative effort by the faculty, students, staff, and government,” he stated.

NAAC A+ Rating

The NAAC accreditation process involves a rigorous evaluation of universities across several parameters, including teaching, research, curriculum design, infrastructure, governance, and student services. Achieving an A+ grade signals that Goa University meets these criteria at a highly distinguished level, reinforcing its academic reputation and administrative strength.

Dr. Sawant noted that this recognition will inspire the university to further elevate its standards in education and research. He extended special appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, faculty, administrative staff, and students for their dedication and hard work.

He also reaffirmed the government’s continued commitment to strengthening higher education in Goa, promising new initiatives to support academic innovation, global collaborations, and cutting-edge research.
