Panjim: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who also serves as the Minister for Tribal Welfare, conducted a performance review
of the Directorate of Tribal Welfare at Altinho, Panjim.
He was joined by Vikas Gaunekar, Additional Secretary of Finance; Dasharath Redkar, Director of Tribal Welfare; and Dr Pratibha LS, OSD to the Chief Minister, along with departmental officers.
The meeting focused on various issues related to the centrally sponsored schemes from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, New Delhi.
Sawant reviewed the implementation of the Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) and assessed the performance of the line
departments involved in its execution.
Additionally, he examined State-sponsored schemes, including those available on the Chief Minister Scholarship portal. It was decided that the Directorate of Tribal Welfare will implement payments for six different schemes through
the Aadhaar bridge payment system starting in November.
To streamline processes, applications for schemes like Antya Sankar Sahay Yojana and assistance for children
of widows and orphans will now be accepted
online, eliminating the need for applicants to travel to district heads for submissions.
Sawant also addressed issues regarding the Vidya Laxmi schemes and proposed solutions to ease challenges
faced by the Tribal Welfare Department.
